DRAFT, for review by a solicitor before launch.
1. The promoter
The promoter is PrizeVault Competitions Ltd, trading as PrizeVault (Company No. XXXXXXXX, registered in England & Wales; registered office: [ADDRESS TO BE CONFIRMED]). Contact: [EMAIL TO BE CONFIRMED].
2. Type of competition
PrizeVault runs free prize draws. Every competition has a genuine free entry route by post (see clause 5), promoted as prominently as paid entry, so no purchase is necessary to enter. Under the UK Gambling Act 2005 this makes each competition a free prize draw rather than a lottery. There is no skill question.
3. Eligibility
Open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 or over. Employees of the promoter and their immediate families may not enter. We may ask for proof of age and identity before awarding a prize.
4. Paid entries
Each competition page states the prize, single ticket price, bundle prices (5 entries at 10% off and 10 entries at 20% off), maximum number of tickets and closing date. Ticket numbers are issued in order when an order is confirmed. Once the maximum is reached, no more entries are accepted. Each person may have a maximum of 50 entries per competition. This limit is counted by billing email address and customer account across all orders, includes tickets in the basket, and includes free postal entries. Entries above the limit will not be accepted.
5. Free postal entry
Free postal entry is available on every competition, no purchase necessary. To enter, send a postcard or letter with your full name, postal address, phone number, email address, the name of the competition and your date of birth to PrizeVault Free Entry, [POSTAL ADDRESS]. Use a standard stamp, at your own cost. One entry per envelope or postcard; several entries in one envelope will not be accepted. Entries must arrive before the competition closes. Each valid postal entry is given a ticket number and entered into the draw exactly like a paid entry. Free entries have the same chance of winning as paid entries. Postal entries count towards the maximum of 50 entries per person per competition (see clause 4). Full instructions are on our Free Postal Entry page.
6. The draw
The winner is chosen on the closing date by a recorded random number draw from all valid entries. The draw takes place on the closing date whether or not all tickets have been sold, except as follows. If fewer than 50% of the available tickets have been sold by the advertised closing date, PrizeVault may extend the closing date once, by up to 14 days. Any extension will be announced on the competition page and our social media before the original closing date. The draw will then take place at the end of the extended period regardless of the number of tickets sold, and the prize will be awarded as advertised. Results are published on our Draw Results page.
7. Prizes
Prizes are as described on each competition page. Brand names used to describe prizes belong to their owners. PrizeVault is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple Inc. or Nintendo. No cash alternative is offered unless stated (cash prizes are paid by bank transfer). Prizes are not transferable. If a stated prize becomes unavailable, we may substitute a prize of equal or higher value.
8. Winners
We contact the winner by email and phone within 7 days of the draw. If the winner cannot be contacted within 28 days, we may redraw. With the winner’s consent, we publish their first name, town and photo.
9. Refunds
Entries are non-refundable, except where a competition is cancelled, in which case all paid entries are refunded.
10. Liability and law
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
